1. About Us

MUU’s a family business, we started in 2009 bringing Japanese street food – takoyaki to Brighton food events. Since then we’ve spread to music festivals all over the Suuth of England and our menu now includes noodles, katsu, okonomiyaki, curry rice, homemade miso and more. We love Japanese food and try to make the tastiest dishes we can. Hatanaka, our family name, means literally ‘in a field’ and we do indeed love to be in one, bringing good hot food and good vibes to the festival circuit.

2011 saw the introduction of our takoyaki cookery workshop! A free service to anyone interested in how to make these tasty balls.

MUU uses only fully biodegradable cutlery & plates, free range meat and dairy and local produce wherever possible.

MUU holds full current PAT and Gas Safe certification; fire, health & safety risk assessments; food hygiene certification and HACCP active guide; public, products and employee’s liability insurance. We’ve been a member of NMTF since 2009.

We are currently registered with Adur & Worthing Council and received a Food Hygiene Rating score of 5 (December 2011) – that’s the TOP MARK you can get :)
